Karaoke

Everyone's a star here: The famous Japanese singing pleasure has long since arrived in Frankfurt. And, of course, also in Switchboard. The show is presented alternately by Dennis or Ivo. The stars are you yourselves. Of course, everyone can take part and choose from a huge repertoire of songs.

MAIN-City-Dating

We don't know if you'll find the love of your life at our MAIN-City-Dating; although it has happened here. But maybe you'll find a nice man or even several to chat with. And who knows what time will bring. The GAB describes this event as follows; “Looking for Prince Charming? At best you'll find him in a fairy tale, but at the very least you can meet real men at Main-City-Dating in Switchboard - and they're much better!”

After a welcome drink to loosen up, the charming host Thomas will guide you through a programme where gay singles can get to know each other informally. No entrance fee, no registration - just drop by.

Offene Bühne

In April 2011 the time had come: Robert and Thomas organised the Offene Bühne (Open stage) for the first time and in the meantime it has become an integral part of the events at Switchboard. Every time, it delights and surprises the audience with a wide variety of performances. True to the motto ‘cabaret by and for everyone’, everyone can present whatever they like on stage. Whether it's a poetry recital, singing a song, telling a story, playing an instrument, or even explaining your porridge preference - everything takes place without public judgement. There is only one restriction; no travesty, because that can be found elsewhere.

The idea for the Offene Bühne came to Thomas when, after all the casting shows and drag queen contests, he was in the mood for a completely different event. Since there was nothing, he found a comrade-in-arms for a new format in Robert. From the first event it was clear that this concept was a success; relaxed and curious guests, excited and motivated performers in a relaxed bar atmosphere.

The Offene Bühne thrives on participation. We look forward to your suggestions. Interested parties can apply via email to offenebuehnefrankfurt@arcor.de, leave a message on Facebook under OffeneBuehneFrankfurt, write to OffeneBuehneFfm on Gayromeo, or sign up on the list at the Switchboard counter.

Switch-Cinema

At the Switch-Cinema we show current films with LGBTIQ+ themes in cooperation with Pro-Fun Media. Switchboard becomes a living room - watch films with friends in a relaxed atmosphere and the whole thing is free of charge!

Switch-Kultur

In October 2011, the Switch-Kultur event series was launched. Ralf Döblitz and Hubert E. had the idea of offering other events within the scene, free of charge on a donation basis under the motto: ‘Going out for a good cause’. Initially, it was difficult to find artists who wanted to perform for free, it took a lot of persuasion. Since then, however, Switch Culture has become a permanent feature of the events at Switchboard.

The performances are mixed; from readings with musical accompaniment, to lectures, theatre performances, singing with instrumental accompaniment, travesty, opera, operetta, musicals, political events, wine tastings, vernissage openings, serious discussions on the topic of HIV, film screenings, and so much more!

We are grateful to the artists who make Switchboard attractive through their commitment and who always attract new guests. Well-known community celebrities perform, as well as artists from a group of regular guests. We extent a special thanks to all of our contributors!

The evenings are always accompanied by the popular home-made hessenESSEN, which is cooked and served with much love and wit by the hessenEssen team: You can taste the love in the details! All in all - a fantastic event to laugh, enjoy, relax and reflect.

If you would like to perform (we are looking for musicians!) or if you would like to be included in the event newsletter, please send an email to kultur@switchboard-ffm.de.

If you are interested, you can keep up to date via the Facebook page - the link to which can be found below.

Tanztee

In cooperation with the FVV Frankfurt we organise a monthly dance tea for our guests. Regardless of whether we are dancing the Rumba, Samba, Foxtrot, Waltz or Discofox, dancing together is fun! The FVV dance department provides the music and, if time permits, the trainer will also be there to offer a small introductory workshop. After a hot session on the dance floor, refreshments will of course be provided by the Switchboard bar team.
